Phlebotomy (Blood Drawing)

Phlebotomy is a generally safe procedure, but possible risks include:

* Bleeding and bruising: Apply firm pressure after the needle is removed to minimize these risks.
* Pain: Pain is usually minor and temporary.
* Avoid drawing blood from swollen or edematous arms: This can help prevent complications.
* Dizziness: Inform the healthcare professional if you experience dizziness.
* Infection: This is rare.

Other Blood Tests

In addition to phlebotomy, other common blood tests include:

* Complete blood count (CBC): Measures blood cell levels.
* Basic metabolic panel: Assesses glucose, calcium, sodium, potassium, chloride, creatinine, and BUN levels.
* Coagulation factors: Evaluates blood clotting ability.

Preparation
